Jacaranda

If you see a tree abloom with small violet-blue trumpet shaped flowers, it would be the Jacaranda tree. Jacaranda branches itself early and acquires a rounded canopy. The tree thrives in most parts of India though it flowers splendidly in hilly regions. The flowers are a pyramidal cluster and the leaves are elegant fern like. Pods are disc like, green when fresh and dark brown when ripened. The pods dehisce on the tree itself.
